Discover the principles behind a working manual gearbox with this UGears STEM Lab Gearbox kit!
Just like a real 4-speed gearbox, your stylised model has 1st, 2nd, 3rd, reverse and neutral gears for you to shift between.
Pop out the laser-cut wooden parts to assemble your working model, then experiment with the rotation speed of the layshaft and drive shaft!
The mechanism of your gearbox is composed of a gear shifting lever, a layshaft with gear coupings, a reverse idle gear bearing, drive shaft and actuator handle. Find out how these parts work to transfer torque from the engine's shaft to the wheels in a manual car!
There's no glue or special tools required to assemble your model, simply follow the illustrated step-by-step instructions.
