Is it real Ice Cream?
Yes, each official Astronaut Ice Cream Sandwich pack contains a slice of Freeze-dried Ready-to-Eat Vanilla ice cream within two Chocolate Wafers.

What does it taste like?
Because it's been freeze-dried (all the moisture has been sucked out of it), it is dry, crunchy and almost has the same texture as the inside of a Malteaser. However, once you place it in your mouth and it starts to dissolve, the ice cream gets restored to its yummy pre-freezed-dried state.

Like with the astronaut ice-cream, I have great me

Like with the astronaut ice-cream, I have great memories of having the ice-cream sandwich as a youngster, and couldn't be happier to have found it again. If I may suggest one thing, it's that I'd love to be able to get my hands on more astronaut-type food. I miss freeze-dried strawberries and would be ecstatic to find them sold on this website. But even if not, I shall be returning, a lot!
