Your nautical model has the beauty of a large modern icebreaker and survey boat, inspired by remarkable scientific documentaries.

Piece together the high-grade wooden parts to create the unique “skeleton” design that allows you to view the inner workings of your model!

You can view the hold and engine room, as well as all the parts required to make your model move. Ready to carry out some research?

Your model is equipped with everything you need. From a bathyscaphe for deep-sea exploration, to a swing jib crane to manage cargo!

It also includes a small motor-boat, life boat, drop ramp and opening hold hatch just like a real-life vessel!

To propel your model, use the special lever to switch manually between three movements – forward, turn and automatic manoeuvring.

So how is it powered? Your vessel uses the signature Ugears rubber-band motor and is managed by a pendulum!

The clever gearing arrangement imitates the sound of a diesel engine and provides a smooth and steady pace for your vehicle.

There’s no glue or additional tools required for assembly, simply push out the laser-cut parts and follow the illustrated instructions.

Please note: Your model is not designed for use in real water, instead, it mimics the workings of a real-life research vessel.

Beautiful model. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the mechanisms to move, despite carefully sanding and waxing every moving part. Nevertheless, it was fun building it and it looks great.

Very interesting model to build. Took me around 18 hours - on & off. Noticed a couple of mistakes in the instructions which threw me off a bit, but all in all, a very enjoyable build. I would highly recommend it, and I’m definitely looking forward to building the next one…

An excellent detailed model, as for me there are flaws with a crane, more precisely with a long rope, one part can pull the other, so I added a length to the part with a lift. Review on the Incredible Gears channel

The research vessel was an absolute joy to build. The instructions were clear, detailed and easy to understand. I had so much fun building it, I kind of didn't want to finish it! I did however, and now have a beautiful functional model. It takes patience and attention to detail, but I enjoyed every minute of the process and look forward to building my next Ugears model.
