Peppermint has lots of good ideas, and sometimes she can get a little carried away with her projects.

This time, you can join her as she visits her Aunty Linda in the Great Treehouse Engineering Adventure in Borneo!

This fun STEM experiment kit features a story that unfolds throughout each chapter of the instruction manual.

Pepper Mint is the heroine in the story, an 11 year old girl whose creativity and cleverness help her to find her way through a series of adventures and overcome various challenges. Your kit includes a figurine of Pepper herself, along with a treehouse so that you can play along!

There are 9 exciting experiments to conduct along the way as you add to Aunt Linda's treehouse.

You will build and play with a rotating palm leaf umbrella, a hoist, a string of lanterns and much, much more. When you've reached the end of the story you will find out how to use all the projects together. Have fun experimenting and playing!

Every construction element provides a fun introduction to the basic principles of physics behind it.

Your child will learn why a block-and-tackle hoist saves energy, how a sloping surface causes acceleration and why a catapult converts energy!

As the parent or teacher, you can decided in advance which experiments your child can do alone, and where your help is required.

Example experiments:

  • Linda's treehouse is not connected to the electrical power grid, but Pepper Mint devises various mechanical inventions to accomplish certain tasks. You will help Pepper equip the treehouse with pulleys, winches and gears as you learn important lessons in physics. You will also build a rope ladder, a zipline and a secret trap door. At the end of the story, you will also wire up a string of LED lanterns using conductive thread and a battery holder to light up the treehouse in the dark jungle night!

Your kit includes: A scale Pepper Mint figurine, the materials to build the treehouse and do the projects, and a full-colour illustrated storybook.

You will also need the following household items to complete the experiments:

  • A ruler, scissors and craft glue
  • Coloured pencils, wood glue and sticky tape
  • 5 coins, brown paper and 2 x AA batteries

Recommended for ages 8 and up with adult supervision. Please be on hand for advice and practical help.

Keep the instructions handy for reference at all times.
