The plexiglass enclosed facets, wonderful for viewing and solving clues, with multi-layered plywood construct makes this a sturdy box. The space at the end is cavernous so one could put a nice surprise in there. Not as involved perhaps as others in the series but has a robust feel about it.

The level of difficulty is pretty easy, so while it seems that even beginners can enjoy it, it may not be enough for people who often solve mysteries. When putting things inside, the center part of the lid gets caught easily, so I think a smaller one is better than I thought.

I can't imagine it's too difficult as he got it open within a day, so I'd put it at intermediate to beginner difficulty, probably. It's fairly sturdy but it can kinda feel like it's gonna break if you manhandle it a bit. Just be a bit tender with the box and the instruments and it'll be fine. It's easy to play with, and the instructions seemed pretty clear from what I glanced at. Perfect for your first puzzle box I'd say!
