4.5 stars. Happy with this puzzle. Son in law loves to be challenged, took him an hour to solve. Then granddaughter did the same. Love how you can put it back together and someone else can solve it. Kind of pricey though.

This box is amazing! I initially came across it when looking at the wish lists for those participating in our work gift exchange and thought my husband would love it! Love this, he did. He opened it on Christmas morning and was immediately intrigued. This kept him busy for a couple of hours which is a fe a t for most items like this! The best part is that you can out it all back together and use it as a gift box for someone else! They'll need to solve it to get their gift, which is a fun gift itself.

I didn’t want to just hand over cash in an envelope bc it's so impersonal so I bought this to turn it into an experience. It was absolutely worth it! It took about 25 minutes to solve, which was the perfect amount of time, not too easy, not frustrating, just really fun and engaging. It turned a simple gift into something interactive and memorable. My niece just turned 25 and loved it so much she immediately asked if she could reuse it. Yes, you can take it apart and put it back together, which makes it even more worth the purchase. If you’re looking for a creative way to give a note or cash and actually make it feel special, this is such a great option.

On my friend's birthday. The kid likes solving mysteries, so she was delighted! The level of difficulty is pretty easy, so while it seems that even beginners can enjoy it, it may not be enough for people who often solve mysteries. When putting things inside, the center part of the lid gets caught easily, so I think a smaller one is better than I thought.

My daughter is ten and loves mysteries. So what’s better than a mystery box that you have to solve. Hours of fun. Challenging and perfect for her age. The puzzle box is pretty sturdy but a little more expensive than I wanted to pay. Had great reviews so I bought it.

This is the best puzzle in the lot, IMHO. The plexiglass enclosed facets, wonderful for viewing and solving clues, with multi-layered plywood construct makes this a sturdy box. The space at the end is cavernous so one could put a nice surprise in there. Not as involved perhaps as others in the series but has a robust feel about it.

Really cool, fun puzzle box. I have a few of these puzzle boxes and enjoy all they have to offer. Each side has its own unique problems and obstacles to work you way through. I love the logic based designs and will look for more in the future.

Totally worth the money as a gift. I didn't do it myself so I can't speak to much of it. The person I got it for seemed to have fun and enjoy it. I can't imagine it's too difficult as he got it open within a day, so I'd put it at intermediate to beginner difficulty, probably. It's fairly sturdy but it can kinda feel like it's gonna break if you manhandle it a bit. Just be a bit tender with the box and the instruments and it'll be fine. It's easy to play with, and the instructions seemed pretty clear from what I glanced at. Perfect for your first puzzle box I'd say!

I bought this frame as a birthday gift for my friend and she loved it. It is rather easy to solve it if you have some experience with this kind of puzzles. Even though there is no previous experience on similar puzzles, this is an easy one to solve; you can just find the solution while fumbling. However, you need to know the number clue in order to open it (and to put a custom photo or even to change the password). You can of course try to guess it one by one but I preferred to check it online. With your own photo and your secret password, I think it is a good gift idea for loved ones.

This was easier than some, maybe most, of the other puzzles they make. However it was fun and clever and one of the puzzles I enjoyed the most. It's not my top from them but close and likely better than some that I enjoyed but that were more challenging. It still took me a while to put the jigsaw puzzle together since I didn't use any pictures as a guide. Overall, high quality, fun, and just enough of a challenge.

The box is well-built, I thought it might be more rough or loose, but for the most part, it was tightly assembled. Of course, some parts that move or were removable were not so tight, but that's to be expected. The complexity of the puzzles is ingenious, and the clues are very clever. I gave this to my wife and she dug into it, she's already two puzzles solved before taking a break. Some pieces come off of the puzzle on purpose, some don't. It's sturdy, but don't force any part to move if it doesn't want to. At the worst, you might have to wiggle a piece a little, but otherwise, it's built to move like it does. Definitely note the dimensions of the secret compartment, but also be aware that the opening on that compartment is not a perfect rectangle. Your gift/prize that you might hide in there needs to be very, very small, or soft/flexible to fit inside/get back out. Smaller than, say, a chapstick tube. Also, be aware that you will have to completely solve the box to hide your present inside, and then completely un-solve it. Have a walkthrough handy, and give yourself about 30-45 minutes to just do the bare minimum to get it open and closed again. There's a lot of steps! But that will also give you an appreciation for the puzzles' depth. A good challenge for your favorite smarty pants! I certainly think it's worth the price.
