CSIRO Climate Change Kit
If you've been learning about climate change in school, you may have heard that the Earth's climate is changing. Not only is the Earth's temperature getting warmer both on land and at sea, but the sea level is rising and storms and flooding are becoming more frequent and severe in certain areas of the globe more than ever before.
So what exactly is causing this dramatic change in climate around our planet? The CSIRO Climate Change Kit is designed to help you discover the answer to this question, while providing information on how climate change will affect our life on Earth, and what we can do to adapt effectively to the change.
Using the materials contained in this kit, you and your science class can carry out 22 different hands-on activities that will allow you to understand what is happening around our globe. As well as being able to create and observe your own ecosystem and solar oven, you will also have the opportunity to find out what causes sea levels to rise, to calculate your household energy usage, to evaluate alternative energy sources and to build your own model wind turbine and insulation!
There is so much to learn using the detailed instruction booklet included, as well as coloured illustrations, important facts and step by step instructions to help you carry out each activity!
So if you're looking for a comprehensive science project to keep you busy at home or in the classroom, the CSIRO Climate Change kit is just the thing for you! It's informative, relevant and most of all, it's FUN!
